A sheet, a coat, an interval, a sphere,
and the bed contained Auden like an iron lung.

leered at Bruce hungover on the bridge;
the barbecue, predictably, had carried
on till dawn and now where were they?

and all around the splendor of the crows.

Water enough, though little rain;
and all enjoy the benefit of doubt.

Spring

It is night,
the street at last is still.
